Joseph Thompson, MAI, CCIM
After an extreme devotion to advanced appraisal practice and education, Joe Thompson, President of Thompson Valuation & Consulting, Inc. became the youngest person to earn the Appraisal Institute’s prestigious MAI designation at age 24. This task was completed at the time of the institute’s strictest designation requirements.
The MAI designation is earned upon the successful completion of a graduate-level curriculum, which includes a comprehensive exam, a written demonstration appraisal report, and attaining qualifying experience requirements.
Mr. Thompson has also earned the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation. Recognized for its preeminence within the industry, the CCIM curriculum represents the core knowledge expected of commercial investment practitioners, regardless of the diversity of specializations within the industry.
Outside of the appraisal profession, Mr. Thompson has applied a value-minded approach to real property investment and development through Property Catalyst Group. PCG conducts value-adding projects, ground up developments, and strategic real property management assignments. Currently, PCG manages the recently developed Parkside Storage and Parkside Express Wash.
In addition, Mr. Thompson teaches Real Estate Appraisal at Virginia Tech. These extracurricular activities insure TVC clients they are served by a well-rounded real property professional suited for complex appraisal and expert witness assignments.
